Tom's Glasgow launch: 14 contracts in 30 days
A textbook Space Cleaners launch in Scotland's biggest city — 14 contracts closed and 11 five-star reviews collected inside the first 30 days.
Tom Lawrence joined Space Cleaners in November 2025 after eight years running a small property maintenance firm in Lanarkshire. He was looking for two things his old business never gave him: stable recurring revenue and a brand that meant something to customers before he opened his mouth.
The launch: above-average from day one
Glasgow had been on the Space Cleaners expansion roadmap for 18 months. By the time Tom went live, the brand already had warm awareness in the city from earlier partner overflow work, and his launch campaign performed roughly 23% above the network average. He converted 14 of his first 23 qualified leads — a 61% close rate.
What he did differently
- Replied to every lead within 30 minutes, including weekends — the brand promise made this feel mandatory, not optional.
- Used the recurring-first quoting script verbatim from the playbook for the first 60 days.
- Asked every happy customer for a Google review within 48 hours of the first clean.
- Joined two Glasgow Chamber events in his first month to build commercial pipeline.
Month 1 numbers
By day 30 Tom had £6,200 in invoiced revenue, 14 recurring contracts (10 domestic, 4 small commercial), and 11 five-star Google reviews — enough to make his Google Business Profile the highest-rated cleaner in his postcode within his first month.
The lesson
Speed plus brand trust is the launch formula. The Space Cleaners brand makes the customer comfortable saying yes; speed of response makes them feel chosen. Tom executed both perfectly — and the results followed.
I'd built a business from scratch before. This was the same energy, but with the wind behind me instead of in my face.
