1. Who we are

Workatool ("we", "us") provides software to help service businesses manage clients, jobs, staff and invoicing. This policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email, password (hashed), business details.
• Usage data: log-ins, pages viewed, features used.
• Customer data you upload: client contacts, job details, invoices. You are the controller of this data; we are the processor.
• Payments data: processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers.

3. How we use it

• Provide and maintain the service
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, lifecycle messages)
• Improve product reliability and security
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)

Contract (to deliver the service you subscribed to), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the platform), and consent (for optional marketing).

5. Sharing

We share data with sub-processors: Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare (hosting). All are bound by data-processing agreements.

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Email hello@workatool.com.

7. Retention

We keep account data while your subscription is active and for 12 months after cancellation, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
